Augusta mole control

We are experts in mole control and are not your typical Augusta, Georgia pest control or exterminator company. First, we do not use poisons or the majority of repellents, since they do not work. Moles are difficult to remove and can only really be completely removed from your yard with mole traps, a process we have practiced and perfected over the years. In addition, if a mother mole has babies, we will make sure to remove her pups by hand before dealing with the mother mole. We are not a typical Augusta mole exterminator company. We completely solve your mole problem by taking these steps:

  • Inspect the entire property grounds - lawn, yard, garden, etc.
  • Set several pro traps in mole tunnels - the correct and safe way!
  • Remove all moles as they are caught and monitor for activity
  • Once there is no more activity and no more moles caught, we're done
  • When needed, fill in tunnels and seal with underground fencing

Augusta mole pest control animal tip: How to Kill a Mole

Once moles enter a lawn or garden, their tunnels can cause all sorts of damage. To get rid of them, some people prefer permanent solutions. There are a variety of ways to kills moles on the market, and while some are more effective than others, they all have their benefits and drawbacks.

Traps

There are many different kinds of traps on the market. Traditional spring traps are usually the easiest to find and use, and tend to be the most effective. There are also pincer and similar types of traps, but they all basically function the same. Regardless of the type of trap, it gets set in the tunnel, the mole springs the trap, then the mole dies. As with mouse traps, enclosed designs can be purchased to make cleanup easier. Check traps regularly for effectiveness, and if they don't spring move them to different tunnels.

Poison

Bait meant to resemble the look and smell of mole's primary food sources, grubs and earthworms, kills within hours of consumption. The problem with poison is that when it works, there's now a dead mole somewhere under your lawn. While great for the circle of life, the dead vermin could attract predators. Finding the dead animal and tossing it is a possibility, but as long as you're fine letting it decompose outside, it saves the step of having to remove the dead mole.

Effectiveness

Spring-based traps are generally considered the most effective, and enclosed models make for a lot easier and cleaner disposal than more basic models. All mole traps are pretty easy to set up and keep an eye on, but the simpler traps require additional cleanup, as previously mentioned. Poison bait is an option as well, but it's hard to tell when it works because the mole just dies somewhere underground. If it's deep enough you might never notice the smell, which is good. On the other hand, as long as real food is plentiful the odds of them going for the bait is less likely. Traps have the benefit of being along the way, while there's no guarantee they'll eat the poison. You can narrow their range by destroying tunnels and using lots of bait or traps, but either way it can take trial and error to get the mole.

Whether you go with traps or poison is largely up to personal preference. Traps are more involved but make it a lot easier to tell when they're caught, while poison has less cleanup. What works for your mole problem might take a bit of experimentation.
