Cambridge mole control

We are experts in mole control and are not your typical Cambridge, Massachusetts pest control or exterminator company. First, we do not use poisons or the majority of repellents, since they do not work. Moles are difficult to remove and can only really be completely removed from your yard with mole traps, a process we have practiced and perfected over the years. In addition, if a mother mole has babies, we will make sure to remove her pups by hand before dealing with the mother mole. We are not a typical Cambridge mole exterminator company. We completely solve your mole problem by taking these steps:

  • Inspect the entire property grounds - lawn, yard, garden, etc.
  • Set several pro traps in mole tunnels - the correct and safe way!
  • Remove all moles as they are caught and monitor for activity
  • Once there is no more activity and no more moles caught, we're done
  • When needed, fill in tunnels and seal with underground fencing

What Prices Do We Charge?

Cambridge mole pest control animal tip: What is a natural deterrent for moles?

Whatever natural method you choose to use to get rid of the moles in your lawn, the first thing you need to do is to try to figure how the moles got into your lawn, what attracted them, and what's keeping them. The moment you can find out their main motivation, the natural deterrent you prefer to use will work just the way you want it to.

When it comes to choosing a natural deterrent for moles, it needs to make your lawn or garden inhabitable for moles. With this kind of measure in place, the moles will find it very difficult to stay around and carry out their usual activities. The following are some natural deterrents that you can use to keep moles away from your lawn or garden.

1. Castor oil

One of the best natural deterrents that you can use to get rid of moles is castor oil. The smell of this contaminates the ground and the insects that are appetizing to moles. When they consume this contaminated soil or insects, it irritates their guts causing severe diarrhea. When this happens, they will have no other option but to stay away from your lawn or garden.

For this natural deterrent to be more effective, spray the solution of castor oil anywhere you see signs of underground tunnels and molehills and this should be done more than twice to get an effective result.

2. Plant deterring flowers

Apart from the use of castor oil, other natural deterrents can be used to keep moles away. These plants either expel a strong smell that makes moles uncomfortable or secretes fluids in the soil that cause discomfort to moles. These types of plants include daffodils, marigolds, and other plants that belong to the allium family.

To use this as a natural deterrent for moles, all you have to do is pick up seeds or bulbs of these plants and place them in the tunnels or burrows of these moles. You can also grow these plants in strategic locations in your garden to help keep them away.

3. Use household items

Household items like cayenne pepper, red pepper, cat litter, and coffee grounds also make a good deterrent for moles. You can sprinkle a mix of these substances or any of these substances on your lawn or garden to repel moles. If there are obvious signs that the moles are already digging tunnels in your lawn, sprinkle these substances more directly at their burrows and tunnels. This is usually more effective.
