We are experts in mole control and are not your typical Norman, Oklahoma pest control or exterminator company. First, we do not use poisons or the majority of repellents, since they do not work. Moles are difficult to remove and can only really be completely removed from your yard with mole traps, a process we have practiced and perfected over the years. In addition, if a mother mole has babies, we will make sure to remove her pups by hand before dealing with the mother mole. We are not a typical Norman mole exterminator company. We completely solve your mole problem by taking these steps:
- Inspect the entire property grounds - lawn, yard, garden, etc.
- Set several pro traps in mole tunnels - the correct and safe way!
- Remove all moles as they are caught and monitor for activity
- Once there is no more activity and no more moles caught, we're done
- When needed, fill in tunnels and seal with underground fencing
What Prices Do We Charge?
Every wildlife situation is different: How many moles? Size of lawn? Do you need trapping, prevention, repairs? Call us and we can give pricing for your specific situation.
Norman mole pest control animal tip: Mole Prevention Tips: How to Keep Moles Away
Moles may themselves be harmless, but the tunnels they dig can destroy lawns, gardens, flowerbeds, and the like. Even worse, hungry voles will use mole tunnels to get into gardens and eat the vegetables. Fortunately, there are a lot of various products on the market to keep them at bay, though some are more useful than others.
Moles dig through dirt, obviously. If they encounter a barrier they cannot dig through, they'll tunnel away from it. Creating effectively a moat of rocks or wire mesh around garden plots or flowerbeds will keep the moles and the voles that use their tunnels, away from vegetables and bulbs.
Deter with Predators
Owls are the primary predator of moles, so a fake one can help deter the little guys from your property. Better yet, build an owl box and let a real owl do the job.
On the other end of the food chain, removing what moles eat can also keep them off your property. Since moles eat worms this is a trickier prospect, but, as much as they eat worms, they also eat grubs. Using grub removal methods that don't harm other insects, like grub-eating firefly larva, can help deter moles.
Ultrasonic mole repellents have been on the market for years. The waves they create can imitate the sound of other moles, which can drive the territorial diggers away to seek free dirt. Other versions try to irritate them to get them to leave and stay away. The effectiveness of these devices can vary wildly, so consider closely before purchasing.
This is a common pest repellent, as rodents and similar critters have a sensitive sense of smell. The theory is the strong odor of the oil keeps them away. As with the sound devices, results can vary, so make sure to examine the products and their reviews thoroughly before committing to a purchase. In general, scent-based repellents are rarely very effective outside.
Of the various prevention methods for moles, owls and barriers are generally considered the best. For one, owls are cool and giving them a safe home is good for the environment. On top of that, playing with rocks and adding some flair to garden patches is always fun. Whatever method you go with, or even with multiple methods, keep an eye out for mounds to make sure that your chosen mole prevention methods are actually working.
