We are experts in mole control and are not your typical Springfield, Massachusetts pest control or exterminator company. First, we do not use poisons or the majority of repellents, since they do not work. Moles are difficult to remove and can only really be completely removed from your yard with mole traps, a process we have practiced and perfected over the years. In addition, if a mother mole has babies, we will make sure to remove her pups by hand before dealing with the mother mole. We are not a typical Springfield mole exterminator company. We completely solve your mole problem by taking these steps:
- Inspect the entire property grounds - lawn, yard, garden, etc.
- Set several pro traps in mole tunnels - the correct and safe way!
- Remove all moles as they are caught and monitor for activity
- Once there is no more activity and no more moles caught, we're done
- When needed, fill in tunnels and seal with underground fencing
What Prices Do We Charge?

Springfield mole pest control animal tip: Signs of moles in yard
Moles are one of those pests where you almost never see the animal itself, but you find the signs of their infestation. Knowing those signs is the first step on a long path to making your yard mole free once more. Getting rid of them might not be easy, but knowing is half the battle, as the saying goes.
The clearest, most obvious, and the most annoying sign of moles in your yard is molehills. These mounds of earth are the result of the extensive digging efforts of moles as they search for their favorite foods, grubs and earthworms. All that dirt they dig through has to go somewhere, after all, and above ground out of the tunnels is the perfect place as far as the moles are concerned.
The most troubling part of all those molehills may be that they're caused by a single animal. Moles are rather territorial, so they stake claims and stick to them except when it's breeding season.
Molehills are the most visible sign of moles, but it's not the only one. There are other, less clear signs as well. Since the hills are the result of tunneling, their tunnels are another sign of them, obviously. Raised, uneven earth, slanted plants, and exposed roots are all good signs of the tunnels, presuming you haven't already stepped into one at that point.
If you see the piles of dirt, the tunnels are right there, below the surface, and even deeper. Since you're unlikely to see the moles themselves, the results of their burrowing are often the clearest signs of their presence.
Some people think that eaten plants are also a sign of moles, but that's not true. Moles don't eat plants, they eat grubs and worms, as mentioned earlier. What likely happened is that voles and other pests utilized the mole tunnels in search of food.
Though they don't eat the plants themselves, their tunnels can upend or uproot them. It can also mess with your grass and soil drainage. That same damage presents a clear sign of moles in your yard. Molehills are the most obvious indication, but the clues for their tunneling system can be seen if you look around. The hills connect to the tunnels, so careful prodding and a keen eye will reveal them. Once you've confirmed the presence of moles in your yard, then you can start dealing with the animals themselves.
