Springfield mole control

We are experts in mole control and are not your typical Springfield, Missouri pest control or exterminator company. First, we do not use poisons or the majority of repellents, since they do not work. Moles are difficult to remove and can only really be completely removed from your yard with mole traps, a process we have practiced and perfected over the years. In addition, if a mother mole has babies, we will make sure to remove her pups by hand before dealing with the mother mole. We are not a typical Springfield mole exterminator company. We completely solve your mole problem by taking these steps:

  • Inspect the entire property grounds - lawn, yard, garden, etc.
  • Set several pro traps in mole tunnels - the correct and safe way!
  • Remove all moles as they are caught and monitor for activity
  • Once there is no more activity and no more moles caught, we're done
  • When needed, fill in tunnels and seal with underground fencing

Springfield mole pest control animal tip: Signs of moles in yard

We think it's safe to say, you don't want moles in your backyard. While not a direct threat to your flowers or veggies, moles can cause quite a bit of damage to your lawn and plants, through their aggressive digging. So it stands to reason that you should look out for the various signs that a pesky mole (or family of moles) has taken refuge underneath your yard so that you can swiftly get rid of them.

How to know a mole is digging under your yard

Mole damage is often mistaken for that of other underground critters, such as gophers, but that's not really a good idea, because if you don't know what's causing the problem, you don't know what to do about it. So you need to identify the creature before you mount the attack.

Now, as everybody knows, moles live inside these underground tunnels, which they mainly use to burrow through in search of food (which for them consists of earthworms, slugs, and other similar small creatures).

There are two types of mole tunnels: deep and shallow. Shallow tunnels can easily be spotted because they quickly lead to raised above-ground tunnels (these appear as raised ridges in the soil). They are mainly used to dig for immediate food, while the deep tunnels are used to "fish" for long-term nourishment. The deep tunnels can be spotted because of the mole mounds they cause (these are essentially small hills of ground that form a straight line pattern).

The ridges and the mounds are by far the easiest and most obvious signs that there is a mole (or moles) living under your yard. Other, much more unpleasant signs, of a mole infestation, include upturned and ruined flowerbeds, dying plants and gardens, and even uprooted trees, (which moles can sometimes do through their burrowing).

What to do about a mole…

If you're fairly certain it's moles, there are a few things you can do. You can either use the shallow tunnels to plant a trap (either a traditional snap trap or a live one, by means of a bucket) or leave them poisoned bait, in order to get rid of them. Alternatively, you can try collapsing their tunnels a few times, to show them this is an undesirable property. Lastly, you can call a mole removal professional to take care of the problem for you and advise you on prevention steps you can take in the future.
